A nonexempt position responsible for the nursing care under the supervision of physicians, providers and/or registered nurse(s). May be involved in both the clinical and administrative areas including physical assessments, medication administration, promotion of wellness through patient education and teaching, care of the patient environment and organizational tasks. Maintains working knowledge of regulatory standards and is accountable to sustain these standards in daily operations. Initiates and implements patient teaching plans. Clinical direction, oversight and competency review is provided by medical providers and ambulatory professional development team in coordination with office management.
Assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated timeframe. Evaluates patients, implements, and documents nursing care. Assists physicians during examinations and procedures. Performs various patient tests and administers medications utilizing the nursing process. Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Graduate of NLN accredited School of Nursing and current NJ-RN License required. Specific shift requirements apply.

Briefly explain the job’s overall objective:
1. Clinical Director of Ambulatory Operations shall provide important leadership and guidance for work that relates to nursing staff in ambulatory care settings as well as bring the ambulatory care nursing perspective to collaborative efforts between Ambulatory Operations and Population Health and others, included but not limited to Professional Development and Quality and Patient Safety. They will also work on projects related to clinical team member training, value-based care and care gap initiatives, chronic disease management and process improvement.

- Responsible for timely completion of medical record reviews for charge integrity.
- Hospital bills are compared against documentation in the electronic medical record to ensure the recovery of all unbilled charges.
- Work with third party auditors to identify and support documentation as requested for medications, implants, treatments, supplies and equipment.
- Identifies gaps in charge capture and works collaboratively with the department to reduce future charge loss.
- Responsible for medical record reviews for quality, medical necessity, coding clarification and risk management as requested.
- Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), assists with patients’ activities of daily living and plan of care.
- Communicates with and supports healthcare team, patients and/or patient’s family or significant other(s).
- Maintains and demonstrates high standards of professional ethics.
Assists interventionalists in all procedures within the scope of interventional Radiology and Vascular surgery to include but not limited to oncology, vascular and trauma.
Skill set must be maintained to handle supplies/instrumentation associated with interventional procedures. Must be able to assist physicians in the capacity of both a scrub and circulating technologist.
Maintains work area: Reports maintenance issues for equipment, monitors supplies and deficiencies.
Adheres to all Infection Prevention policies, utilizing the appropriate PPE needed.
