 This position has a strong emphasis on customer service to our patients. Must ensure quality patient scheduling, positive telephone etiquette and customer satisfaction in support of the mission of Cooper University Hospital. Serve as the front line contact person for all incoming patients. Greet, register, schedule, collect point of service copays and provide general information to patients and their families using AIDET. Must have the ability to be organized, take independent action and project Cooper’s values to both customer and co-workers. Serves as patient’s non-clinical navigator during discharge coordination. 

Responsible for registration functions (such as registration, insurance verification, patient safety and compliance, revenue collections, resource referrals, and customer service) in a fast paced, high volume Emergency Department that provides 24/7 service.

Provides psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, resources referrals, to facilitate discharge plans, and/or adjustment to illness, and complex discharge planning for patients and their families. Formulates the discharge plan with patient, families and the care team based upon a needs assessment. Coordinates appropriate referrals to home care agencies, skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers, and community-based programs. Coordinates care authorization process with insurers Coordinates specific details of patient’s hospitalization with Utilization Management department to ensure appropriate admission status.

 Work within designated center of excellence to coordinate all clinical aspects of the Cooper Neurlogical Institute’s (CNI) practice, working closely with the treatment team of Neurosurgeons and staff. Demonstrate a comprehensive clinical knowledge of treatment indications, assist with organizing weekly conferences, protocol follow up, education, and clinical care of patient. Work collaboratively with physicians to provide community education, first responder education, as well as peer education within Cooper University Health Care.

To provide patient care under the supervision of RN in the ambulatory surgery setting: - Assist with patient ADL’s and daily care - Turn-over and cleaning of patient bays - Transporting discharged patients via wheelchair to car - Communicates and supports with healthcare team and patients’ family and/or significant others - Maintains and demonstrates high standards of ethics - Performs technical duties as directed by RN ex: Vital signs, POC testing, EKG, Foley cath care documents appropriately  - Attends staff meetings - Assist in admissions, transfers and discharges from Units - Handling of clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks - Maintains work knowledge and regulatory...

General duties include scheduling meetings, data management, composing, typing, organizing, maintaining and distributing documents and incoming/outgoing correspondence, handling confidential personnel and financial documents, assists leaders with daily operational functions
