A nonexempt position responsible for the nursing care under the supervision of physicians, providers and/or registered nurse(s). May be involved in both the clinical and administrative areas including physical assessments, medication administration, promotion of wellness through patient education and teaching, care of the patient environment and organizational tasks. Maintains working knowledge of regulatory standards and is accountable to sustain these standards in daily operations. Initiates and implements patient teaching plans. Clinical direction, oversight and competency review is provided by medical providers and ambulatory professional development team in coordination with office management.
Patient Navigators provide a single and centralized point of patient access to physician and radiology services across disciplines. This includes Internal and Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Cardiology, OB/GYN, Endocrinology, Rheumatology, Gastroenterology, and Pain Management.

Delivers an exceptional experience to patients, customers and physicians who contact the Access Center by facilitating patient access throughout Cooper’s provider network.
Provides support to the Access Center management team related to escalations, patient
complaints, new hire onboarding and training/cross-training.
Responsible for providing technical and operational support in the design, development,
delivery and evaluation of systems and training programs in the Patient Access Center.
Supports the Learning and Quality function for both training and quality monitoring across
the Patient Access Center and reviewing individual or team audit reports to identify training
needs.
This position functions as a subject matter expert and is expected to provide high-quality customer service in accordance with Cooper University Hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
- Support and maintain successful unit-based throughput efforts through the facilitation of appropriate and timely bed assignments resulting in fair, safe, and balanced clinical workloads for all clinical team members.
- Ensure that all available resources are utilized in an efficient, effective, fiscally responsible manner that supports the delivery of safe, high-quality care to all patients.
- Identify, implement, and support the deployment of evidence-based interventions designed to maximize successful input, throughput and output related processes.
- Support staff engagement by serving the unit in a consistent, supportive, compassionate, and nurturing manner.
- Facilitate the successful and appropriate allocation of clinical resources through preemptive planning while also demonstrating the ability to execute safe and clinically appropriate strategies to address urgent and emergent clinical needs.
- Serve as a role model/mentor empowering all clinical staff to identify innovative solutions to address patient needs while ensuring all clinical staff receive the support needed to practice in alignment with the full scope of their clinical role.
- Support and empower the clinical team in the implementation of successful evidence-based practice changes in effort to address opportunities for improvement that are identified through quality, process, and performance improvement efforts.
- Ensures the delivery of quality patient care through the coordination of organizational priorities at the direction of the Clinical Director . Assists the Clinical Director in coordinating interdepartmental and ancillary activities to ensure quality, cost-effective patient care.
- Lead the collaboration of inter-professional care teams to achieve successful clinical outcomes for all patients.
- Identify and support the elements of improved care quality including: improvements in nursing sensitive care quality indicators (NDNQI), effective care coordination, mitigation of gaps /omissions in care, prevention of potential errors from reaching the bedside.

The Registered RN is a professional care-giver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary
health care team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a
designated time frame and who supervises and provides care to these patients utilizing the
nursing process including the therapeutic use of self.
This individual will have the unique opportunity to assist in the development and operations
of the Cooper Urgent Care Center. This new model focuses on the acute/immediate care
needs in the Cherry Hill and surrounding areas.
Excellent customer service, interpersonal and clinical skills are required. References in
these areas are a must.

Responsible for registration functions (such as registration, insurance verification, patient safety and compliance, revenue collections, resource referrals, and customer service) in a fast paced, high volume Emergency Department that provides 24/7 service.
Assumes responsibility for record keeping, and intra-departmental and Inter-departmental communications.
