This position is responsible for performing the duties and functions in the diet office according to the current departmental policies and procedures and the job flows. Maintains current records of patient diet orders and takes patient calls for room service and guides them through choices in accordance with their diets. Process Room Service customer orders, including patient/family-initiated orders and those patients needing assistance.
- Adheres to Departmental procedures, fulfilling compliance with Life, Safety, Fire and Hazardous waste requirements.
- Triage/Coordinates and performs direct patient care and clinical flow.
- Prepares patients for providers, assisting with exams, assisting provider with suture preparation, carrying out orders, (i.e. various supplies/tests/ X-Rays/dispensing of medications).

- Ensures all inventory and equipment (Capital/Non-Capital) is sufficient, functional and available to meet the daily needs of the department.
- Provides daily product receiving and distribution coverage for the Emergency Department.
- Prepares monthly budget reports and forecast annual needs.
- Monitors budget on a monthly basis and prepares annual budget.
- Arranges the introduction of new equipment/products and analyzes the feasibility to the department.
- Verifies and processes patient supply charges.
- Educates and updates department staff in all matters relating to patient supply charges.
