Financially clears scheduled inpatient and outpatient services, including office visits, testing, diagnostic studies, surgeries and procedures, prior to date of service. Financial clearance process encompasses any or all of the following job functions:   • Verifies insurance eligibility and plan benefits. • Contacts patients with inactive insurance coverage to obtain updated insurance information • Validates coordination of benefits between insurance carriers. • Explains insurance plan coverage and benefits to patients, as necessary.

The Registered RN is a professional care-giver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and who supervises and provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process including the therapeutic use of self. Follows established policies and procedures. Communicates openly with internal customers and supervisors. Provides excellent customer service interfacing well with all levels of staff, management and physicians. Applies Cooper core values. Other duties as required.

CODER  – OUTPATIENT demonstrates proficiency in coding one outpatient service type to support Revenue Cycle Goals for timely billing.     Utilizes International Classification of Disease (ICD-10-CM and PCS), Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) including Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) and other coding references to ensure accurate coding.     Addresses NCCI, OCE, LCD and other coding edits as applicable.    

Supports, educates, and assists patients and their families, serving as a link to their doctors and supportive services.   This position’s role is key in the implementation of multi-disciplinary care.

The Lead Diabetes Educator will provide expertise, clinical leadership, training, mentorship and management to Cooper’s CDCES team within the division of Endocrinology. This includes ensuring required education and professional development needs are met, communication is provided, and staff are practicing within their scope to be compliant with regulations. This individual will take a leadership role to drive quality metrics, maximize productivity, assess staff needs, hire and evaluate staff. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in diabetes, education, and management of patient populations.  

  This position has a strong emphasis on customer service to our patients. Must ensure quality patient scheduling, positive telephone etiquette and customer satisfaction in support of the mission of Cooper University Hospital. Serve as the front line contact person for all incoming patients. Greet, register, schedule, collect point of service copays and provide general information to patients and their families using AIDET. Must have the ability to be organized, take independent action and project Cooper’s values to both customer and co-workers. Serves as patient’s non-clinical navigator during discharge coordination.

Perform various laundry, patient transport, and environmental duties throughout the hospital. Performs specific cleaning duties to maintain a clean and aseptic environment. Transports patients throughout the facility in a professional, courteous, and timely manner. Performs laundering and related assignments necessary to the collection, processing, and distribution of linen throughout the system. Keeps waiting rooms, lounges, and staff areas tidy.

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), assists with patients’ activities of daily living and plan of care. Communicates with and supports healthcare team, patients and/or patient’s family or significant other(s). Maintains and demonstrates high standards of professional ethics.   1. Responsible for the overall floor maintenance of hard surface and carpet (stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extraction & bonneting) in areas that include offices, patient rooms, classrooms, corridors, lobbies, entrances, stairwells and other public areas (i.e. cafeterias, etc.). In addition, a Floor Technician may also perform the following as needed: Dusting surfaces, floors, emptying waste baskets removes waste and relines basket. Damp wiping cleans all furniture. Cleaning and polishing metal and porcelain fixtures in bathroom. Mopping and sanitizing floors of rooms and offices. Spot cleaning walls and windows.
