Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), assists with patients’ activities of daily living and plan of care.
Communicates with and supports healthcare team, patients and/or patient’s family or significant other(s).
Maintains and demonstrates high standards of professional ethics.
1. Supports the activities of daily living to include bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting/hygiene, and assisting with mobility and transport. Demonstrates standard precautions including the care of patients in isolation and safe patient practice.
2. Performs technical duties as directed by RN, such as phlebotomy, vital signs, point of care testing, EKGs, Foley catheter care specific to population served and documents appropriately.
3. Identifies and communicates changes in patient’s status to RN and responds appropriately. Demonstrates standard precautions including the care of patients in isolation and safe patient practice.
4. Reinforces education of patient and family/responsible party regarding individual care needs and safety issues.
5. Participates in Cooper patient satisfaction initiatives and goals. Participates in the performance improvement activities. Assists in orientation of new hires.
6. Completes annual unit-specific competencies by specified due date.
7. Attends Staff Meetings when available for documents review of staff meeting minutes.
8. Assists in admission, transfers and discharges of patients to and from the unit
Supports the clinical treatment care of patients.
Ensures patient comfort and assists in educating patient on dental procedures.
Works efficiently to maintain clinic schedule while adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
Organizes and maintains surgical instruments and lab equipment.
Confirms patient appointments including referral as needed.
Confirms treatment plans from general dentist and/or oral surgeon as applicable.
Performs the complete check-in functions for each patient.
Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for dentist's access; suctioning; passing instruments.
Obtains radiographic imagining as requested by the provider.
Performs all functions within the scope of their practice.

JOB DESCRIPTION- ADVANCED PRACTICE PROVIDER (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) - ENDOCRINOLOGY
• The Endocrine Division of Cooper University Health care is recruiting an APP to work with our team of physicians and diabetes educators in the outpatient practice. The position is ideal for an APP aiming to focus their career within a medical specialty and work as part of a multi-specialty team.
Candidates do not need endocrine experience although primary care experience or familiarity with the basics of the management of diabetes and thyroid disease is appreciated.
• The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is licensed, registered and has completed specialized graduate or doctoral education, and is nationally certified to provide health and medical care for diverse populations in a variety of settings.
Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Functions
• The Advanced Practice Nurse will function within the scope of practice as defined by the state nurses practice act, delineation of privileges set forth by the practice setting and the American Nurses’ Association Code of Ethics. The advanced practice nurse utilizes the scientific process and national standards of care as a framework for managing patient care.
• The Physician Assistant will function within the scope of practice as defined by the supervising physician
• As licensed independent providers, APPs practice autonomously and/or in consultation with a collaborating/supervising physician and other health care professionals to assess, diagnose, treat and manage patients’ health problems/needs.
• The APP will perform a patient history and physical examination to determine a working differential diagnosis and develop an individualized plan of care.
• Services include, but are not limited to ordering, performing, supervising, and interpreting diagnostic and laboratory tests, and prescription of pharmacologic agents and non-pharmacologic therapies.
• The APP may provide therapeutic measures as appropriate and provide teaching, education and counseling to individuals, families and groups.
• For uncommon or unstable conditions, the APP will formulate diagnoses in consultation with his/her collaborating/supervising physician and either refer to a specialist or participate in the dual management and treatment with his/her collaborating/supervising physician.
• In addition to diagnosing and managing acute and chronic illnesses, APPs will emphasize health promotion and disease prevention
• APPs will serve as health care researchers, professional educators, interdisciplinary consultants and patient advocates.
Prescribing Medications
• Prescriptions may be provided by the APP, where clinically indicated, and shall be in accordance with the current APP prescribing guidelines and in accordance with state and federal law. Proper documentation of medications prescribed, and refills authorized, will be reflected in the patient’s chart.
Continuing Education
• The APP will stay current with medical trends and provide evidence-based practice medicine by completing the required continuing education as mandated by certifying organizations.
• The autonomous nature of the APP requires accountability for healthcare outcomes. Insuring the highest quality of care requires national certification, periodic peer review, clinical outcome evaluations, adherence to the code for ethical practice, evidence of continuing professional development and maintenance of clinical skills.

The Planning Analyst is an integral member of the Strategic Planning and Business Development team at Cooper University Health Care. To assist in positioning the organization to be successful today and into the future, the Planning Analyst supports in developing analyses to support enterprise strategic plan development, business plans, and external business development opportunities to the full range of strategic and business planning initiatives. Produces and collects relevant financial, clinical, and market data necessary for the planning process. Working with various constituents within the planning team and across the organization, including but not limited to Service Line Leadership Teams, Finance, Enterprise Analytics, Marketing, IT.

Perform various laundry, patient transport, and environmental duties throughout the hospital. Performs specific cleaning duties to maintain a clean and aseptic environment. Transports patients throughout the facility in a professional, courteous and timely manner. Performs laundering and related assignments necessary to the collection, processing and distribution of linen throughout the system. Keeps waiting rooms, lounges, and staff areas tidy. High School diploma or equivalent required.
