Support Services Associate personnel are fully oriented, trained, capable of and willing to perform all functions of the duties outlined. The performance and quality standards for the assignment will be met constantly. This position has no direct or indirect supervisory duties or budgetary duties.

The candidate must have the ability to scrub in all specialty areas. Assist surgeons during procedures. Responsible for maintaining sterile technique throughout procedures. Responsible for care and tracking of sterile instruments and supplies; clean-up of room following procedure. Must be able to work quickly and accurately under time constraints and be able to stand for prolonged periods. Must be able to lift instrument trays and supplies up to 50 pounds and t be able to assist patient positioning.

Performs cardiac ultrasound tests (including stress Echo’s and Trans esophageal Echo’s) in accordance with the American Society of Echocardiography and department policies. Ability to comply with ICAEL standards. Demonstrates a full knowledge of cardiac ultrasound practice and the usage of digital ultrasound equipment. Completes daily scheduled tests in the appropriate time frame and to population specific group. Ability to prepare the patient and explain the procedure.
